The City of Birmingham is seeking an energetic, organized and dependable part-time Dispatcher. Under supervision of the Commander, dispatches police, fire, emergency and medical units; answers incoming 911 lines, other emergency calls, and police non-emergency lines; operates computer-aided dispatch equipment; and monitors and coordinates police, fire, emergency and medical unit activity and assignments via radio frequencies.
The PT Dispatcher is expected to provide citizens with quick, efficient and courteous service in person and by telephone and will also be responsible for maintaining daily shift reports and 911 logs. Duties will also include operation of CLEMIS and the Law Enforcement Information Network, and completion of other related duties as directed.

This position offers a flexible part-time schedule of up to 24 hours per week and starts at $19.73 per hour. Shifts include afternoons, nights, weekends and/or holidays.
