Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a part-time Dog Walker. As a Dog Walker, you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of dogs and provide them with exercise and companionship. This is a great opportunity for animal lovers who enjoy spending time outdoors and have a passion for working with animals.

Responsibilities:
- Walk the Police Department's stray dogs on a regular basis, ensuring they get the exercise they need. Shifts are Monday through Friday, between the hours of 9:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. (night shift); and Saturday and Sunday, between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. (day shift), 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. (middle shift), and 9:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. (night shift).
- Provide companionship and playtime for dogs during walks.
- Provide dogs with food (day and middle shifts only) and water.
- Ensure the safety of the dogs at all times during walks.
- Clean up after dogs during walks, including disposing of waste properly, and clean dogs and their cages.
- Report any concerns or issues to the the next scheduled Dog Walker an Animal Control Officer.
- Maintain accurate records of each walk, including duration and any notable observations.

Qualifications:
- Previous experience in animal care, such as working in a kennel, pet grooming, dog training, or veterinary assistant role is preferred.
- Knowledge of dog handling techniques and animal restraint methods
- Ability to handle dogs of various sizes, temperaments, and cleanliness levels
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with coworkers and complete paperwork thoroughly and accurately.
- Reliable and punctual with excellent time management skills.
- Physical stamina to walk multiple dogs in various weather conditions.

Note: Equine experience or veterinary technician background is also valued but not required. Must be at least 18 years of age and able to pass a criminal background check.
