CITY OF BELOIT is Hiring a Seasonal Sports Official (Summer Softball) Near Beloit, WI
Summer Seasonal: April through August (variable hours; approximately 12-15 hours/week)Essential Duties and Responsibilities The Sports Official is responsible for officiating games such as volleyball and softball in the Beloit Parks and Recreation leagues/programs. The Official's main responsibilities are to enforce rules, ensure the safety of players on the court/field, and monitor game activity.
Must be 18 years of age upon employment.
High School diploma or equivalent required
Knowledge of game officiating.
Experience in officiating.
Ability to handle difficult people/situations in a courteous and professional manner.
Ability to work accurately under pressure.
Must be creative, energetic, highly organized, motivated, dependable, patient and able to maintain discipline. Must be capable of following directions and have an ability to grasp new skills. Possess good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to complete paperwork and work well with others from different cultures and backgrounds. Physical Requirements: Ability to perform the following activities:
Lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds.
Frequent bending, talking, hearing, and seeing.
Standing, walking, and/or running for extended periods.
Grasping with hands repetitively.
Twisting, squatting, and reaching as needed.
