Join our team as our first Business Analyst and help us level up our application processes and boost system efficiency!This position is responsible for collaboration with City departments to improve their respective application and business processes. The Business Analyst is responsible for the administration, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of our application portfolio, both internal and external. This may include but is not limited to the application deployments, program updates, administration of service accounts, assisting with application support, maintaining documentation, and provide user training. The position will support and enhance the backend of the City of Batavia external and internal database servers, webservers, and applications.This position is a full time on-site position reporting to the City of Batavia's City Hall building. A typical work schedule for this position is Monday to Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM. Position includes on-call availability as needed, nights and weekends on occasion.Pay grade 14 on the City of Batavia's wage and salary ordinance with starting salary range of $79k-$93K DOQ non exempt with excellent benefits.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Meets with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define business, financial, and operations requirements and systems goals, and identifies and resolves systems issues. Leads design sessions in prototyping new systems for the purpose of enhancing business processes, operations, and information process flow. Reviews and analyzes the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develops strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems. Identifies and establishes scope and parameters of systems analysis to define outcome criteria and measure-taking actions. Provide assessment, analysis, user experience, and comprehensive application performance analysis. Work closely with employees and outside vendors to deploy, troubleshoot, support, enhancements, and upgrade applications. Utilize programming skills to assist with the implementation, data analysis, maintenance, and reporting requirements as necessary for the City’s application portfolio. Collaborates in the planning, design, development, and deployment of new applications, and enhancements to existing applications. Prepares and delivers reports, recommendations, or alternatives that address existing and potential trouble areas in operating systems across the organization. Coordinates and performs in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems, and other post-implementation support. Provides orientation and training to end users for all modified and new systems. Performs other duties as assigned.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk or hear; sit; use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, bend, and crouch while working in various City Buildings. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to moderate noise levels. The position may also require temporarily working underneath desks and workstations. Occasional outdoor trips are necessary.
