Job Overview:
The City of Bangor is seeking a full-time, qualified code enforcement officer. The code enforcement position is essential in maintaining a safe, healthy, and vibrant community. The code enforcement officer will enforce state and local codes, ordinances, and regulations. A code enforcement officer ensures that businesses and people are complying with public health, safety, business activities, zoning, building standards, municipal affairs, and more. A code enforcement officer will be expected to conduct investigations, complete detailed reports, communicate with building and zoning inspectors, and appear in court as necessary. Code enforcement officers can expect interactions with various stakeholders, conducting inspections, responding to violations, issuing notices and/or citations, and working with owners to address issues.
