City of Baltimore, Mayor's Office of Employment Development is Hiring a Cell Assembly Technician - SAFT AMERICA INC. Near Baltimore, MD

Job Description:

We are looking for individuals who thrive in environments where safety is paramount and who consistently adhere to safety policies and procedures. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining production equipment, machines, and tools using provided process documents, diagrams, and written instructions. You will operate winding, welding, punching, and stacking equipment, mastering the operations of each machine.

Responsibilities:

Work in an environment where safety policies and procedures are strictly followed and safe work practices are consistently utilized.

  • Set up, operate, and maintain production equipment, machines, and tools according to provided instructions.
  • Operate winding, welding, punching, and stacking equipment, becoming proficient in the operations of each machine.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area and equipment, adhering to 6S standards and all safety requirements.
  • Inspect machine outputs using precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, meters, and vision systems.
  • Follow instructions per process specifications while manufacturing materials for use in high-power cells and batteries.
  • Possess the desire and aptitude to become proficient in operating additional complex machinery.

Experience/Skills Required:

  • Ability to comprehend written instructions and accurately document and reason the results of the work performed.
  • Proven experience in running complex machinery and producing high-quality products.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain an organized workstation to optimize production flow.
  • Ability to install materials and set up machines using precise settings such as speed, tension, power, and various other criteria.
  • Keen eye for detail and ability to notice small variances in processes and materials that may affect final product quality.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in running machinery.
  • Excellent communication skills to describe any machine or product issues clearly and accurately to all levels of personnel.
  • Reliability, trustworthiness, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Problem-solving skills to diagnose and address issues that may occur during machine operation.
  • Willingness to rapidly learn and understand assigned tasks.
  • High School Diploma
  • Basic computer skills with some proficiency in Excel and database usage.
  • Pass Drug Screening
  • Pass Criminal Background Check
