City of Arlington is Hiring a Juvenile Case Coordinator Near Arlington, TX

Under general direction, analyze, coordination and monitor juvenile court cases
making sentence recommendation, monitoring compliance to Court orders and
coordinating juvenile community services.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Make sentencing recommendations to judge on juvenile cases.
2. Monitor compliance with court orders on juvenile cases.
3. Maintain court records regarding juvenile cases on a daily basis.
4. Develop and implement additional/alternative sentencing options for juvenile defendants through identification and location of agencies for referral of juvenile community services.


OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
:
5. Prepare statistical data regarding juvenile cases on a weekly or monthly basis.
6. Coordinate activities/functions with other City/Court departments.
7. Recommend and assist in implementing improvements to Court
procedures pertaining to juveniles.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Knowledge of court processes or operations.
  • Knowledge of business English, spelling and punctuation.
  • Detailed oriented and good written communication skills.
  • Skill in communicating professionally and tactfully with other City employees and the public by oral and written means.
  • Skill in developing alternative solutions to problems, evaluating courses of action and reaching appropriate recommendations for decision making.
  • Skill in using various personal computer software applications including, but not limited to, word processing, presentations and graphics, and spreadsheets.
  • Skill in applying general policies to specific situations.
  • Skill in collecting, organizing and analyzing statistical data.
  • Skill in planning, designing and preparing professional reports and analyses.
  • Ability to speak publicly in a professional manner.
  • Ability to prepare conduct presentations to a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to organize, manage and track a large workload.
  • Ability to plan, schedule and monitor long-term complex projects.
  • Ability to prepare, make recommendations to and monitor juvenile case sentencings.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment using knowledge of the court processes and the organization's policies and procedures.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, agencies and citizens.
  • Ability to operate a variety of office equipment including, but not limited to personal computer, calculator, telephone and copier.
  • Ability to perform a variety of physical skills including, but not limited to seeing, sorting, calculating, lifting, filing, typing and writing.
  • Ability to work independently in the absence of specific instruction or supervision, exercising discretion and independent judgment, and to cope with a rapid work pace.

Qualifying Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Criminology, Sociology, Communications or other related fields. Two (2) years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
