GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Performs skilled electrical repairs and preventive maintenance duties in an industrial plant environment or water/water reclamation field with multiple critical processes. Installs, troubleshoots and repairs new and existing controls and instrumentation as needed to upgrade and update equipment. Tests motors, generators, lighting and power distribution systems. Troubleshoots and repairs variable frequency drives and other motor controls. May serve as a team lead for staff assigned to assist them, helping them to become familiarized with equipment, tools, work procedures, and ensure safety procedures are followed. Work is performed under the general direction of the Plant Maintenance Supervisor. Performance is reviewed through inspection, reports, meetings and results achieved.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Journey level electrical experience in industrial motor controls, solid state soft starters and variable frequency drives, including PLC programming knowledge, and experience maintaining electronic instruments in accordance with technical specifications, experience with test meters for measuring current, voltage and resistance; experience in working with wiring schematics and prints to troubleshoot equipment and accomplish repairs.

Communication equipment, (ie, radio, telephone) computers, copy machine, multi-line phone system, fax machine, photo, video and audio hardware, various hand tools and various motor vehicles.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, standing, bending, and working on a computer.
JOB LOCATION
All City owned buildings, parks, grounds and recreation facilities. Any off-site locations and facilities utilized as part of the City's participation or involvement in an event, activity or job assignment.
