Join Our Team as a Motor Grader Operator!
Are you an experienced heavy equipment operator with a passion for paving the way to safer streets and smoother paths? We’re seeking a skilled Motor Grader Operator to join our dynamic team and contribute to the maintenance and construction of our city’s infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Skillfully operate a six-wheel motor grader, showcasing your expertise in various tasks such as cutting, filling, and blading dirt roadways, alleys, and facilities.
  • Excavate alleys and streets to precise grades, ensuring the highest standards of construction and maintenance.
  • Execute specific dirt removal work tasks, contributing to the enhancement of our city’s aesthetics. – Safely operate 2 ½ ton to 10 cu.yd. dump trucks and front-end loaders as needed, showcasing your versatility. – Take charge of snow removal from streets during inclement weather.
  • Conduct routine equipment maintenance checks, including oil, lubricant, hydraulic, and water levels, to ensure peak performance.
  • Serve as a leadman on construction or maintenance projects, guiding your team toward successful project completion.
  • Maintain safety by properly safeguarding and barricading work sites, ensuring the protection of fellow employees and the public.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience operating medium and heavy construction equipment, with at least three (3) years on a motor grader.
  • Hold a valid Texas Class “A” Commercial Driver’s License with a Tanker “N” endorsement within 30 days of hire.
  • High school education preferred. – Proficiency in street construction methods, materials, and hazards, demonstrating your commitment to safety and quality.
  • Familiarity with hand tools, both power and manual, and a solid grasp of basic survey and gradation procedures.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues and citizens.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Knowledge of street construction methods and materials.
  • Knowledgeable of work hazards and precautions to take.
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools, both power and manual.
  • Must have working knowledge of heavy equipment such as motor-grader and be familiar with medium-sized trucks (10 cu.yd.) and front-end loaders up to 2 ½ cu.yd. capacity.
  • Knowledge of basic survey and gradation procedures.
  • Ability to read cut sheets and work grade.
  • Knowledgeable in street construction methods and materials.
  • Understands hazards involved in construction work and appropriate precautions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and citizens.
Licenses/Certification
Required Qualifications
Requires at least five (5) years of experience in the operation of medium and heavy construction equipment, three (3) of which are on a motor-grader. Must possess a valid Texas Class “A” Commercial Driver’s License, with Tanker “N” endorsement. High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
