--- The hourly rate advertised represents Step 1 on the pay table. Additional steps may be available depending on qualifications. ---Under general supervision, performs daily work assignments for the Administration Division of the Public Works Department, in accordance with the Employee Manual, Department Policies and Procedures, City of Alamogordo Ordinances, and any applicable State or Federal authority.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Required: High school diploma or GED equivalent;At least five (5) years of experience as an administrative assistant performing clerical and/or secretarial duties;Valid New Mexico Driver’s License, or the ability to obtain within sixty (60) days of employment, with a driving record acceptable to the City of Alamogordo (valid out-of-state license may be considered);Become a Notary Public within ninety (90) days of hire;Or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.Desired: Associates degree in business or a related field.Experience working with top management officials in an organization.Radio operations and dispatch experience.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Work is typically performed in an office setting;Daily tasks require both sedentary and physical labor that include, but is not limited to, sitting, standing, walking, bending, squatting, turning, and driving;May be exposed to adverse weather conditions while conducting tasks such as retrieving or distributing mail;Light physical demands may be required including occasionally lifting and/or moving up to twenty-five (25) pounds; andMay be subject to repetitive motion while using personal computer, radio, and multi-line telephone.
