Medical Technologist - Part-Time

The successful candidate:
***This is part-time role. Schedule: Monday, Wednesday and Friday 8:00AM-4:30 PM OR 8:00AM-6:30 PM***The Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Technician is responsible for accurately performing a variety of routine and complex laboratory tests and reporting results within the expected turnaround time to assist healthcare providers deliver the most optimal patient outcomes. Maintains an understanding of the theory behind each of these laboratory procedures and has ability to identify and report problems. Performs, as assigned, all required equipment maintenance, calibration and quality control testing per departmental procedures.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Biological Sciences or related field OR Associate's Degree required.
Experience: Minimum of 1 year experience working in the laboratory.
Certification: MLS or MLT certification (ASCP, AMT, HEW, AAB) Preferred at Hire or Required within 18 months of hire
Special Skills: Professional demeanor, effective collaboration and communication skills ensuring team work with co-workers, nursing staff and physicians. Knowledge of regulatory requirements and knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP). Above average problem solving and critical thinking skills.
