POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for providing leadership to maintenance team members in a high-speed flexible packaging operation. This includes oversight in the upkeep, repair, and improvements of plant, and equipment. The Packaging Maintenance Supervisor will lead team members to perform maintenance work in a manner that improves equipment reliability and ensures that food safety and employee safety standards are met. The Packaging Maintenance Supervisor will assist the Packaging Maintenance Manager in the implementation of maintenance excellence objectives, oversee scheduling of work, and lead continuous improvement projects.

Shift schedule: Monday through Friday 10:30PM-6:30PM

Salary range: $95K-$125K

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Directs workers in electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment.
  • Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
  • Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties.
  • Responsible for maintaining the Maintenance Connection program.
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
  • Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
  • Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
  • Adhere to company policies and safety requirements as defined.
  • Represents the company in a positive manner at all times.
  • Ensure safety and company policies are communicated and followed through in a consistent manner.
  • Sanitation SSOP’s pertaining to maintenance policies.
  • Must be a team player at all times.
  • Responsible for complying with food safety and food security, communicating, and enforcing Quality, GMP’s, HAACP, Allergen, and Sensitizer as well as other regulations as required.
  • Responsible for ensuring the quality and integrity of the product run on the lines based on specifications.
  • Responsible for duplicating and communicating all safety and good manufacturing practices in accordance with company policy as well as all other company policies.
  • Other duties will be assigned by management as deemed necessary.

ADDITIONAL SPECIFIC DUTIES

  • Actively participate in Line Daily Direction Setting (DDS) meetings and execution of the daily plan, including reporting results of the previous 24 hours: CMMS, BDE & PM card management, report number of breakdown, insights from completed PM cards maintenance log. 
  • Support development and lead portions of Line Daily Direction Setting, 90-Day loss-elimination plans and the annual maintenance plan. Verify that all corrective and work request are complete in a timely manner. 
  • Owns the Maintenance, Planning and Scheduling. Lead the scheduling of all aspects of maintenance work, lead the scheduling maintenance team as dictated by CMMS program. Verify maintenance plan and previously identified work during daily & monthly meetings, ensure the revision and updating of CMMS Documentation occurs as necessary. Creates new maintenance task, procedures, asset location and verify all task & procedures are up to date for current and new equipment. 
  • Own the breakdown elimination (BDE) to drive improvement in production. Creates result driven plan that reduces reoccurrence of unplanned downtime. 
  • Reports KPI’s on the following (unplanned downtime, PM backlog, PM completion for all crafts and operations team. 
  • Serve as a coach and resource for crafts and actively participate in breakdowns and verifies that all PM cards are complete in a timely manner. Act as the liaison between the Operational team and Asset care team
  • Create purchase orders, parts kitting, & tracking for all corrective and PM’s that require replacement parts. Create new part adds to store room for new and updated equipment. Verify that BOM is completed and ensure we do not have duplicate parts in the system with different part #s.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA/BS in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering preferred
  • Three plus (3 ) years supervisorial experience (manufacturing/operations preferred).
  • Confident leader who can promote inspiration in others, consistent in leadership and derive relationships based on respect and trust.
  • Take on challenges and are capable of solving complex problems. Enjoy troubleshooting issues and are able to collaborate with a team to do so.
  • Act with appropriate urgency and adapt the plan quickly as operational priorities change.
  • Able to analyze data and identify trends to determine changes needed in the process.
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Effective analytical, problem solving, administrative and organizational skills
  • Strong technical troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of safety, maintenance, and operations management systems.
  • Knowledge of safety policies and procedures is required (e.g. lock out/tag out, confined space)
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints
  • Strong computer skills required; Microsoft Office Excel proficiency as well as Computerized Maintenance Management Systems experience preferred
