Job Summary

City Brewing is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our corporate planning team as a Material Planner for Blues City Brewery in Memphis, TN. In this role you will be responsible for ordering packaging materials by determining quantities, setting delivery schedules, and entering purchase orders. You will collaborate closely with various stakeholders to optimize inventory levels, mitigate production disruptions, and improve our material processes. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the efficiency and success of our supply chain operations.

SHIFT SCHEDULE: M-F 8am-4pm with occasional overtime

Duties and Responsibilities

Material Requirements Planning (MRP)

• Review Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and manage release of packaging materials and raw materials according to production schedule requirements, including monitoring lead times and alternate sources.
• Maintain timely and accurate data records in the ERP system.
• Collaborate with production planners to develop production schedules aligned with material availability, ensuring uninterrupted production flow.

Inventory Management:

• Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and packaging components to ensure adequate stock levels while minimizing excess inventory and carrying costs.
• Work closely with Customers and Business Development to manage aging, expired, and slow-moving materials.

Supplier and Customer Management

• Cultivate strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring consistent communication and addressing any issues or concerns related to quality, delivery, and ways of working.
• Provide superior service to our customers through communication and collaboration on issue resolution.

Performance Metrics and Reporting:

• Generate regular reports and analyses to provide insights into supply chain key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Monitor and track deviations in delivery schedule and material quality which result in production impacts. Work closely with Business Development and Finance groups to share information.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
• Proficiency in ERP, MRP, inventory management software and Microsoft Office suite.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to interface with vendors, customers, and coworkers at all levels in the respective organizations.
• A “roll-up” your sleeves leader mentality with the ability to collaborate, interact and communicate at all levels of the organization.
