The City and County of San Francisco continuously accepts applications for all permanent Clinical Psychologist positions. Under general supervision, conducts professional-level work in clinical psychology; carries out psychodiagnostic examinations and psychotherapy of persons with emotional disturbance, mental illness, substance use disorders and developmentally delayed children and adults; prepares psychological reports; provides psychological consultation services and participates in psychological research.

Possession of a valid license as a Psychologist issued by the California Board of Psychology as defined in Chapter 6.6 of the Business and Professions Code; Psychologist Licensing Law, Sections 2900-2903, 2914.

Training and Experience Examination: (Weight 100%)
The Training and Experience Examination that is linked in this job ad is a required part of the application. It measures knowledge, skills, and/or abilities in job-related areas, e.g.,
Once submitted, applicant responses on the exam cannot be changed. Applicants who achieve a passing score will be placed on the eligible list/score report, in rank order, according to their final score.
Eligible List/Score Report
A confidential eligible list of applicant names that have passed the civil service examination process will be created and used for certification purposes only. An examination score report will be established, so applicants can view the ranks, final scores, and the number of eligible candidates. Applicant information, including names of applicants on the eligible list, shall not be made public unless required by law. However, an eligible list shall be made available for public inspection, upon request, once the eligible list is exhausted or expired and referrals resolved. The eligible list/score report resulting from this civil service examination process is subject to change after adoption (e.g., as a result of appeals), as directed by the Human Resources Director or the Civil Service Commission. After passing the exam, Candidates will be on the eligible list for 12 months and can reapply afterward.
Certification
The certification rule for the eligible list resulting from this examination will be the Rule of the List. Additional selection processes may be conducted by the hiring department prior to making final hiring decisions.
