Short-Term Summer Laborer (Up to 480 Hours)
This work is performed under the general direction and supervision of the Golf Course, Parks, Roads, or Public Works Department Supervisors. Responsibilities can include, but are not limited to: patching potholes with hot asphalt or a Durapatch machine; assisting in paving roads; cracksealing; cleaning culverts; building and installing signs; assisting in setting up and tearing down traffic control; hosing and cleaning streets; ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends.
Requires high school diploma or equivalency certificate and some experience as a general laborer or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the work. Must be 18 or over.
This position is covered under a Collective Bargaining Agreement between the City-County of Butte-Silver Bow and the Laborer’ International Union of North America, Local No. 1686. Payment of initiation fee, monthly union dues, and health insurance may be required.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSITIONS:
Must be a resident of Butte-Silver Bow during employment according to Butte-Silver Bow Ordinance. See below.
"2.08.010Residence during employment.
From and after October 1, 1979, all employees of the local government of Butte-Silver Bow shall be bona fide residents within the boundaries of Butte-Silver Bow during the period of their employment by the government of Butte-Silver Bow.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Summer hire orientation and safety training is required.
