In addition to patching potholes, correcting drainage problems, maintaining bridges, and solving other roadway problems, Road Maintenance aids other divisions with projects on a regular basis.The Traffic Control Technician performs semi-skilled work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of traffic control signs and in the installation and maintenance of traffic roadway markings. The schedule for this full-time position is Monday through Thursday, 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Drives and/or operates a county vehicle or equipment and must obey all safety policies, and roadway rules and laws.Fabricates signage for roadways, installs and repairs signs. Installs, maintains, and repairs other traffic control devices. Performs traffic studies and speed surveys. Conducts traffic counts, sets counters, monitors, maintains, and submits reports. Assists striping operation in striping roadways, layout, parking lot striping. Performs clerical duties including, but not limited to, maintains data, filing, assists the public, and answer phones, as needed.Maintain record of tasks performed daily, and other reports and records as required.Responds to after hours’ emergency call outs as needed. Assists with disaster preparedness and emergency response in event of a natural disaster or other emergency event.Performs other duties as required.
