CITRUS CONNECTION is Hiring a Payroll Specialist Near Lakeland, FL

SUMMARY:

The position is responsible for the preparation and processing of Bi-Weekly payroll for the District Employees. The position reports to the CFO or their designee.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

· Responsible for the preparation and processing of biweekly payroll for all employees

· Review and ensure accuracy of timesheets.

· Maintaining related records, filing tax reports and voluntary deduction reports, processing involuntary deductions such as levies and garnishments.

· Posts journal entries for payroll deductions and payroll taxes.

· Responsible for the coordination efforts between payroll, human resources, budget and other departments to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data (including preparation/distribution of detailed reports, e.g. gross payroll, hours, overtime, leave balances, head count, and retirement contribution reports)

· Handle the administration of the electronic timekeeping system. Setup each employee, valid programs for each employee's charges, and adherence to Florida Labor Standards Act (FLSA)

· Monitor submissions of approved timesheets, ensure valid data transfers to/from payroll service.

· Establish/maintain employee records; ensure that employee changes are entered correctly and made on a timely basis; review changes for proper authorization and adherence to LAMTD policy including compliance with federal/state/local regulations.

· Collect data and prepare monthly ledger reports.

· Other payroll related duties as assigned by the CFO.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Associate degree preferred, but will consider equivalent combination of education and work experience that satisfy the requirements of the job. At least 1 year of general payroll experience.

Required Certifications: None required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

· Confidentiality is paramount.

· Knowledge of basic finance and accounting principles.

· Ability to communicate effectively, strong verbal and written communication skills.

· Strong interpersonal skills and conflict resolution skills.

· Must be a self-starter; able to work independently demonstrating sound judgment in daily work activities and exercises discretion.

· Strong ethical standards.

· Proficient in relevant computer software (Outlook, Oracle NetSuite’s, Excel)

· Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements
