The Landscape Technician has the responsibility to participate in an efficient and comprehensive landscape maintenance program.

An added duty of this role will be to cover for the landscape technicians in the case of scheduled or unscheduled absences.

The incumbent will provide coordination and direction to a team of landscape technicians and external vendors and will assist in providing grounds keeping, building maintenance, along with maintaining equipment and tools.

Primary responsibilities include :

Lead landscaping team in daily tasks. Assist as needed for scheduled / unscheduled absences. Coordinate equipment maintenance and repairs.

Assist Landscape Manager with coordination of deliveries.

Train Landscape Technicians in equipment use, maintenance and daily tasks. Assist Landscape Manager in leading day-to-day grounds keeping operations of multiple retail banking and main office facilities.

Assess work completed by colleagues and external vendors against safety and performance standards and work with the Landscape Manager and other stakeholders to handle necessary corrective actions.

Perform grounds keeping and building maintenance duties as required. Assist in mowing lawns either by hand or using a riding lawnmower when needed to expedite work orders or cover for colleagues on PTO.

Recommend specific plants, trees, grass, or other landscape features dependent on local site conditions and established Citizens standards.

Landscape by planting, trimming, and maintaining flower beds, grass, shrubs, bushes, and small trees. Shovel snow from walkways and apply anti-skid as needed;

Clean parking lots, sidewalks, and all exterior areas while performing routine grounds keeping.

Pressure wash building exterior and refresh parking lot painting as needed. Clean gutters and roof drains of debris.

• Perform minor repairs and maintenance procedures on equipment utilized in grounds keeping. Ensure all tools, equipment, and vehicles are maintained and utilized in a safe manner consistent with established standards.
• Close out work orders upon completion via iPad or Computerized Maintenance Management System. Respond to emergency and non-emergency service requests and prioritize work order response.

Communicate in a pleasant and professional manner with internal and external customers.

Minimum Qualifications :

• 1 or more years of experience in landscape maintenance required
• Ability to travel using a company sanctioned vehicle (ex : box truck / pickup truck) as required
• Demonstrated experience to successfully complete multiple tasks independently in an accurate and timely manner in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to plan & prioritize daily responsibilities with strong attention to detail
• Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills along with proven positive customer service experience
• Intermediate or higher-level expertise using iPad, smart phones, computer / laptops, & MS Office applications including MS Excel, Word, Outlook
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. without any accommodation or assistance and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions at varying heights (ladders, roof top, as required

Preferred Qualifications :

• Demonstrated job stability
• Prior commercial landscape work experience

Education, Licensures, & Certifications :

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required
• Valid active State Driver’s License required
• OSHA or Landscape related certifications preferred

Hours & Work Schedule :

• Hours per Week : 40 hrs. / week
• Work Schedule : M-F 7 : 00am - 3 : 30pm ET (Spring-Summer) 8 : 00 am - 4 : 30 pm ET (Fall-Winter) and may include occasional voluntary OT evenings or weekends
