Ellett Memorial Hospital owns and operates the Appleton City Rural Health Clinic and Specialty Clinics.
Job SummaryAccountable for clinical practice in hospital departments that provide or support clinical services including: Emergency Department and Inpatient Nursing, Radiology, Utilization Review, EMS, Infection Control, Social Services, Respiratory Therapy, Pharmacy, Quality Improvement and Central Sterile. Directs the hospital’s clinical services. Establishes guidelines for the delivery of patient care, treatment and services. Responsible for the delivery of patient care that promotes safety, performance improvement, and well-being of all patients throughout the organization. Accountable for ongoing professional development of clinical management team, clinical staff (including orientation, ongoing education and competency), and retention of personnel. Accountable for compliance with all regulations that impact delivery of patient care (i.e.CMS, Missouri Department of Health). Directs the implementation of clinical policies and procedures, clinical standards of practice and the clinical staffing effectiveness plan. Participates in development of annual department budgets and accountable to meet or exceed same. Makes recommendations for enhancements to or development of programs and services in order to meet the needs of the patient population served. In the absence of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is able to provide leadership/ assistance to other departments. Assumes administrative call on a rotating basis. Maintains open communication with all staff in an organized, professional manner. This position requires a sound knowledge of nursing practice and exceptional leadership abilities. Demonstrates behaviors that are consistent with mission and objectives of EMH, possesses excellent communication, both oral and written, and interpersonal skills; performs other duties as requested in association with and under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer.
