Risk Control Trainer

Colorado Intergovernmental Risk Sharing Agency (CIRSA) has an opening for a traveling Risk Control Trainer covering multiple areas of Colorado. This hybrid “work-from-home/office” position will need to reside/relocate in the Greater Denver, Metro Area of Colorado. Other residential areas of Colorado may be considered.

Under the direction of the Risk Control Manager, the position is responsible for safety, risk management, environmental, and health training for municipal governments that are CIRSA members. The position is responsible for training development and delivery to include webinars, classroom, and hands-on safety and health training. Attendance at CIRSA-sponsored seminars, conferences, and safety & health fairs may be required and some general safety and health consultation may be involved.

Position-specific administrative tasks will include, but shall not be limited to, both classroom and hands-on course development, training gear & supply procurement, training catalog development, standard operating procedure development, data entry & other software platform use.

The position will be expected to travel regularly throughout the year, sometimes as much as 4 - 5 days per week, with overnight stays expected. This position will primarily service all regions of Colorado and travel in all weather conditions will be required. A CIRSA vehicle will be assigned for travel.

Position Hiring Range:

The salary range for the position is $69,800 - $108,200 annually, depending on qualifications.

What You Bring to CIRSA:

· A bachelor’s degree in safety, risk management, or an equivalent field is desired.

· At least 5 years of full-time, hands-on, safety/risk management experience, is desired.

· Significant experience providing adult safety education, specific to areas, such as, but not limited to, confined space entry, winter driving, excavation & trenching, and work zone & flagger operations.

· Knowledge of municipal operations, i.e., public works, water, wastewater, transportation, utilities, parks and recreation facilities, general industry, and construction safety.

· A CSP (Certified Safety Professional) certification at the time of hire or have the ability to become certified within two years of the hire date.

· Other certifications, such as the ASP (Associate Safety Professional) and the OHST (Occupational Hygiene and Safety Technician) may be considered.

· A valid Driver’s License is required.
