Job Summary:

Supports robotic trim and drill operations including setup of fixtures and parts, and processing of parts. Assists in robot setup and maintenance including calibration, preventive maintenance, and cutting tool setup. May perform some manual trim and drill operations using hand tools and fixtures.

Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

  • Load and unload parts onto fixtures. Set up holding fixtures within the robot cell.
  • Perform accurate alignments of robot reference frame to physical part/fixture reference frame.
  • Use work instructions, setup sheets, and work orders to select and load appropriate tooling and programs.
  • Run programs on the robot and physically process parts.
  • Monitor robot operations to ensure quality parts are produced.
  • Trim and drill parts using hand tools including die grinders, drills, and sanding blocks.
  • Perform measurements using metrology equipment including calipers, height gauges, feeler gauges, pin gauges, and go/ no-go gauges.
  • Follow preventive maintenance program and calibration routines to maintain machine capability.
  • Perform routine maintenance including cleanup and general housekeeping.
  • Mentor other operators and technicians in best practices.
  • Follow all safety standards and policies and ensure a safe operating environment, including use of appropriate protective equipment and identification of potential safety concerns.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities to improve safety, quality, delivery and cost.
  • Interpret and adhere to drawing requirements and process specifications.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or needed to achieve success.

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3-7 years of experience in CNC/Robot programming and operation.
  • Associate’s Degree in CNC Programming preferred.
  • Certificated training in CNC and/or robotics preferred.
