Overview

Responsible for the overall maintenance and operation of the Hotel and Casino’s Central Plant and Mechanical Rooms on property. Supervises, Plans, Organizes, Assigns, Delegates, Evaluates and Follows through with all Facility related personnel and maintenance in Hotel and Casino at Circus Circus. Ensuring engineering team is a cohesive unit properly educated in requirements of the profession such as; Safety, Equipment knowledge, Policy’s and Procedures. Reports to the Director of Engineering. Supervises Senior Watch Engineers, Guest Room Engineers, Casino Engineers, and P.M. Engineers. Works closely with all other Facility Managers and all other company department heads.

Responsibilities/Qualifications

Typical Physical and Mental Demands: - Requires 24 hour availability. - Regular and predictable attendance. - Requires being mobile 90% of the shift. - May require prolonged standing. - Requires frequent bending, stooping and reaching from floor level up to 10 ft. - Requires climbing ladders and stairs. - Requires eye/hand coordination and manual dexterity. - Requires use of hand power tools. - Requires normal sense of smell, touch, and sound. - Requires normal vision range and absence of color blindness. - Requires the ability to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols. - Requires communicating by telephone and radio. - Requires operating a computer, Microsoft 365 programs - Requires the ability to drive a truck. Typical Working Conditions: - Work is performed inside and outside in all weather conditions. - Work is performed in small areas such as attics, and high areas such as catwalks. - Work is performed in areas which may be unusually hot, cold, noisy, smoky, dimly lit. - Work entails chemical usage. Performance Requirement:(Knowledge, Skills & Abilities) - Excellent communication skills. - Understand and comply with all company and departmental rules and regulations, policies and procedures. - Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff. Read, write and communicate verbally in English. - Ability to perform intermediate math. - Working knowledge of Central Plant Operations, Chillers, Boilers, and related equipment to include but not limited to, plumbing, electrical and mechanical equipment. - General knowledge of union contracts and labor agreements. Education: - High School Education or equivalent required. - Journeyman Engineer status. Experience: - 1 year of previous management experience or 4 years’ experience as an engineer with focus on HVAC-R, Central Plant, and Mechanical Systems.
