Description

Circuit of The Americas (COTA) is a 365-entertainment destination for world-class events located in Austin, TX. Job Description:

This position is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to all patrons entering the venue, scanning and verifying tickets and credentials, mitigating issues, answering questions, and directing guests through the entry process as quickly and effectively as possible. As the first interaction between guest and venue, all Front Gate Staff will provide a positive experience to all attendees. This position is Part-Time Seasonal.

Essential Functions:

  • Verify that each guest has a working ticket and scan accordingly.
  • Properly identify which tickets/guests receive wrist-bands for GA Pit and Tower Club. 
  • Maintain an updated knowledge of gate processes, policies and prohibited items. 
  • Display excellent customer service while answering questions about the venue, event or ticket issues; if an answer is unknown, utilize proper radio etiquette to contact a supervisor.
  • Assist with the direction of line queues, traffic-control, and bottlenecks.
  • Assist the Front Gate Manager with the placement/removal of signage, stanchions, barricades and ensure the entry is free from any waste/obstructions before, during, and after the event.
  • Assist with egress at the end of the event. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Must be able to deal effectively with a wide variety of personalities and situations requiring diplomacy, tact, friendliness, poise, and firmness. 
  • Excellent written, verbal, analytical, and organizational skills. 
  • Must have a thorough understanding of facilities’ amenities, events, and programs. 
  • Polished and articulate with strong interpersonal skills. 
  • Must possess quality teamwork attitude.
  • Must possess great attention to detail & strong work ethic.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Highschool Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Access to email with ability to clock in/out on personal device.
  • Previous event experience is preferred but not required.

Physical Demand & Work Environments:

  • Ability to stand, sit, use of hands to handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms.
  • Ability to lift and/ or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to squat, bend, twist, push/pull.
  • Ability to stand/walk for long periods.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
  • Work in extreme environments outdoors throughout the year.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be loud during events.
