Circuit Court for Prince George's County is Hiring a Clinical Professional (G-24) Near MD, MD

The incumbent in this position conducts court-ordered custody investigations and home inspections in contested child custody and adoption cases and provides the Court with a written assessment and recommendations when appropriate.
 
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
 
  • Conducts custody investigation interviews.
  • Assesses home conditions.
  • Prepares reports resulting from the investigation.
  • Testifies in court.
  • Provides crisis intervention to prospective and current clients.
  • Develops and implements individualized treatment plans in collaboration with families and members of the patient's treatment team.
  • Maintains communication with community professionals involved in the patient's plan of care.
  • Monitors referrals to determine case outcomes.
  • Maintains case files with appropriate forms, evaluations, and other records of client progress for supervisory review.
  • Conduct site visits. 
  • Maintains statistical records and reports and provides timely statistics as required.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of appropriate letters, records, reports, forms, evidence, case files, and memoranda received or used.
  • Consult with judges, service providers, and colleagues as needed.
  • Attend meetings and training as directed by supervisor and participate on committees.
  • Screen cases for other services (psychological evaluation, parenting classes, substance abuse).
  • Provide clear, accurate, and timely documentation of contacts and recommendations.
  • Consult with other Unit staff on challenging cases
  • When possible, maintain and ensure the resource manual is updated. Maintain updates throughout the year as new information becomes available. 
  • Willingly and cooperatively perform tasks and duties assigned, which may not be listed explicitly in the position description but are within the general occupational category and responsibility level typically associated with the incumbent's class of work.
A master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Psychotherapy, or a related field and a minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience working with children, adolescents, and families traumatized by abuse, neglect, and exposure to violence. Knowledge of individual, family, and mental health behavior; counseling and interviewing skills and techniques. Ability to work effectively with clients having abuse, emotional, behavioral, or other related problems. Must be skilled in establishing rapport with clients and other concerned persons, possess the ability to maintain effective working relationships, and be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. 

Preferred Qualifications: Two (2) years of experience treating children and adolescents with mental, behavioral, and emotional disorders. A doctorate, LICSW, and the ability to speak Spanish are a plus.This is a 100% Grant Funded Position
