JOB SUMMARY

As a QC and Breaker Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality control and efficient functioning of breakers and related electrical equipment. Working in collaboration with the Quality Control and Maintenance teams, you will conduct inspections, perform tests, and troubleshoot issues to maintain the reliability and safety of electrical systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct quality control inspections on breakers and associated electrical components.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, specifications, and safety regulations.
  • Perform testing and diagnostic procedures on breakers to identify malfunctions or potential issues.
  • Use specialized equipment to assess electrical performance.
  • Carry out routine and preventive maintenance on breakers and switchgear systems.
  • Replace faulty components and conduct repairs to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of quality control tests and maintenance activities.
  • Record test results, equipment conditions, and actions taken.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues in breakers, identifying root causes and implementing corrective measures.
  • Collaborate with the Maintenance team for complex problem resolution.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Control Manager to develop and implement quality assurance protocols.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines during all activities.
  • Identify and address safety concerns related to electrical systems.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and safety standards.
  • Provide training to junior technicians and share knowledge within the team.
  • Calibrate testing equipment regularly to ensure accurate and reliable measurements.
  • Maintain calibration records and perform adjustments as needed.
  • Work closely with the Quality Control team to address broader quality-related initiatives.
  • Participate in quality control meetings and provide input on improvement strategies.
  • Respond promptly to electrical system emergencies, such as breaker failures or power disruptions.
  • Collaborate with the Emergency Response team to address critical issues.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven experience as a QC and Breaker Technician or in a similar role.
  • Familiarity with various types of breakers and electrical systems.
  • Proficiency in conducting electrical tests and diagnostics.
  • Hands-on experience with breaker maintenance and repairs.
  • Ability to analyze test results and troubleshoot electrical issues.
  • Ability to convey technical information to team members and managers.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with the Quality Control and Maintenance teams.
  • Work well in a collaborative and cross-functional environment.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and address urgent issues.
  • Flexibility to work in different environments and conditions.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED

  •  Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • In-depth understanding of electrical safety protocols and best practices.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Associate degree or certification in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Occasional reaching/working overhead, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling
  • Frequent walking
  • Continuous standing and repetitive hand motion
  • Lifting requirements include occasional lifting up to 50 pounds, frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds and continuous lifting of up to 15 pounds.

WORK SCHEDULE

Hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm. You are required to be at your workstation from the start of your shift to the completion of your shift Monday thru Friday.
