JOB SUMMARY

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing general maintenance and repairs for assigned equipment and facilities including carpentry, HVAC, basic electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, material handling equipment and mechanical operations. The maintenance technician is an active member in promoting safety in the workplace.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Inspects and identifies equipment or machines in need of repair.

· Creates work orders as work is initiated and maintains reporting including completed work orders, parts and material used and description of work completed.

· Works independently and with other team members to plan and complete repair work using building’s blueprints or equipment manual as needed.

· Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include repairing drywall, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures.

· Performs routine maintenance on building systems.

· Cleans and assists with upkeep of the facilities.

· Orders supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance.

· Performs other related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Not applicable. This position has no direct reports.

QUALIFICATIONS

· 2-years' experience in maintenance in a manufacturing environment or related experience preferred.

· Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods.

· Knowledge of carpentry, HVAC, basic electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, material handling equipment and mechanical operation.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED

· Ability to follow instructions from supervisors, blueprints and equipment manuals as needed.

· Ability to use hand tools and power tools.

· Ability to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

High school diploma (or GED equivalent)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

· Occasional reaching/working overhead, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling

· Frequent walking

· Continuous standing and repetitive hand motion

· Lifting requirements include occasional lifting up to 50 pounds, frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds and continuous lifting of up to 15 pounds.

WORK SCHEDULE

Hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm. You are required to be at your workstation from the start of your shift to the completion of your shift Monday thru Friday.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
