Job Title: Journeyman Electrician

This is a full-time, non-exempt, hourly position.

Location is project based – primarily within the Southeastern Wisconsin region.

Job Summary:

As a Journeyman or Master Electrician at Circle, you will be an integral part of our skilled electrical team, responsible for executing a wide range of electrical installations, repairs, and maintenance tasks. Circle is focused on commercial, industrial, medical, institutional, and retail work – not residential. With your advanced knowledge of electrical systems and codes, you will contribute to the success of our projects while ensuring the safety and compliance of all electrical installations. Responsibilities:

  • Perform electrical installations for various projects, including commercial, industrial, medical, institutional, and retail settings. This includes wiring, lighting, fixtures, outlets, switches, electrical panels, and other electrical components according to the required specifications and safety standards.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical malfunctions, identifying the root causes of issues and providing effective repair solutions.
  • Conduct inspections of existing electrical systems to assess their condition and identify potential hazards or areas for improvement.
  • Ensure that all electrical work is carried out in strict accordance with local, state, and national electrical codes and regulations. Keep informed of all updates and changes in electrical codes to maintain compliance.
  • Prioritize safety at all times and adhere to established safety protocols and guidelines. Recognize potential hazards and take appropriate measures to mitigate risks for yourself, other team members, and customers.
  • Collaborate with other electricians, apprentices, and construction personnel to execute projects efficiently and achieve project deadlines. Mentor and guide Apprentices to foster their growth and development in the field.
  • Interact professionally with customers, offering exceptional customer service and addressing their questions or concerns regarding electrical installations and repairs.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Uphold and embody Circle’s core values: Safety, Excellence, Respect, Relationships
  • Hold a valid Wisconsin state Journeyman or Master Electrician license
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Have at least 5 years of commercial electrical field experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and safety regulations
  • Proficiency in interpreting electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to walk, stand, bend, stoop, kneel, and work overhead for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Must be able to work in small spaces and on ladders, scaffolding, or lifts.
  • Must be able to manipulate hand and power tools and operate machinery.
  • Must be able to talk, hear, and see, including close up, distance, color, and peripheral.
