Circle Area Humane Society in Circleville, OH is looking for one part-time Humane Agent to join our team. We are located at 185 Island Rd. Our ideal candidate must love animals, have a passion for animal welfare, and work well with a team and members of the public.

Schedule

Part-Time: 9AM–4PM on Sunday, Monday, and Wednesday (with occasional after-hours emergency calls)

Pay

$12.00/hour

Responsibilities

*Care for animals at the shelter (food, animal hygiene, note behavior) *Perform daily shelter cleaning/upkeep *Answer phone calls about the shelter and receive humane calls *Drives humane vehicle to go on humane calls *Ensures animal welfare standards for the State of Ohio are met, and if not, initiate the process to post notice of seizure or other course of action in accordance with local laws *Respond to emergencies involving domestic animals *Handle and transport animals utilizing animal handling equipment *Communicate with local law enforcement, residents of Pickaway County, and team members in a timely and effective manner *Interact with and train volunteers when necessary *Available for occasional after-hour calls about urgent animal cruelty investigations or sick/injured animals (hours will be logged and payable)

Preferred Qualifications

*2-Year Degree Program *Background in Animal Care/Welfare or Veterinary Services *Background in Law Enforcement *State of Ohio Driver's License *Excellent Communication Skills *Ability to Organize and Manage Case Loads *Be an Eager Continual Learner

Circle Area Humane Society will pay for all necessary Humane Agent training and certifications upon hiring. After completing training, the Humane Agent must pass the Humane Agent Exam and meet all eligibility requirements to continue in the position.
