Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy is Hiring an Instructional Coach/Intervention Specialist Near Cincinnati, OH

Instructional Coach/Intervention Specialist

Status: Full Time, Exempt

Starting: August 2024, following the school calendar

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor Degree in Education and/or a current Ohio Intervention Specialist license-mild/moderate (K-12); with reading endorsement preferred
  • An understanding in the science of reading research and has practice implementing various supported reading interventions, such as Take Flight or Orton Gillingham, etc.
  • Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and follow through
  • Must be a committed Christian who is comfortable in a multi-denominational Christian community

Duties/Description:

  • Work cooperatively with regular classroom teachers, using data to interpret the abilities of students and identify struggling learners, and assist in developing and implementing classroom intervention strategies
  • Employ and share the latest findings to help classroom teachers diversify their teaching practices and tailor their classes to support a diverse community of student learners
  • Adapt to different classroom learning environments and teaching styles
  • Collaborate with student, parents, and teaching team to develop and implement a personalized learning plan for struggling learners in core content areas, then regularly assess the progress of student's needs and communicate this to the team
  • Directly and indirectly provide needed coaching and support for students who learn differently through inclusion, guided study halls, and other pull-out services
  • Provide mentorship, services, and programming that increase motivation, build resiliency, and foster a positive school climate for all students
  • Participate in professional growth opportunities through staff development, in-service, workshops, and other means
  • Other duties as assigned by the administrative staff
