Enrichment Math Teacher for Grades 2 and 3

Reports To: Lower Elementary School Principal

Status: Part-Time, 10-Month, Faculty

Start Date: August 2024, Following the school calendar

Schedule: Monday 7:50 a.m.-3:50 p.m., Wednesday/Thursday 7:50-11:50 a.m., and Friday 8:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m., Following the CHCA Calendar

Responsibilities Include:

• Teach the Math Investigations and Enrichment classes to Grade 2 and 3 students
• Plan, prepare, and present daily math instruction for students who exhibit the demonstrated ability to quickly learn math concepts at both a quicker pace and deeper level
• Plan, prepare, and present lessons once per week for students who are excelling in their daily grade level math classrooms.
• Communicate regularly with grade level classroom teachers regarding current math instruction topics
• Communicate student progress with parents
• Use a wide variety of appropriate materials and methods to go deeper into Math concepts to further the growth of students' math understanding and problem-solving skills

Qualifications:

• Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education
• Current Ohio Teaching License
• Strong Christian background
• Able to integrate Theological principles into daily lessons as appropriate
• Strong understanding of the cognitive and affective needs of more advanced level students in the area of math
• Sound knowledge of current mathematical concepts, methods, materials and strategies designed to meet students' needs
• Ability to create high level interesting and engaging lessons for students and provide appropriate assessment methods
• Familiarity with Project Based Learning and STEM materials and instruction
• Ability to effectively communicate with students, parents, and colleagues
