Summary

The assembler performs mechanical assembly of industrial fan products until they are completed to acceptance test procedures to be routed to the next phase of operations.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Work from blueprints, schematics, work orders and/or assembly sketches to gather, stage and assemble products and related items.
• Assembly product by adjusting, trimming and/or fitting parts to simple/normal tolerances.
• Once trained, completes tasks as directed by manufacturing schedules with minimum supervision.
• Gather parts, pieces and other items to be assembled from the appropriate locations, work areas or departments within the production area.
• Use pneumatic, power and/or other hand tools to assemble parts, pieces and/or other items.
• Perform related bench work, caulk and pack for shipment those products/items assembled in work area.
• Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment, machines or other devised used in the normal course of the work performed.
• Monitor quality of own work and report to supervisor defective material, unusual conditions and operating difficulties. Keep required time and/or production records.
• Maintain general work areas and/or equipment used in a clean and orderly condition.
• Follow and adhere to prescribed safety regulations and procedures.
• May assist in training of new or transferred employee.

Competencies

• Must have experience using hand tools and air tools.
• Must be able to read tape measure, squares and other measuring tools.
• Must be able to use pallet jacks, cranes and lift table to move parts from one station to another.
• Have technical capacity to learn new processes as required.
• Desire & ability to follow safety procedures.
• Excellent time management and attention to detail.
• Possess the desire to do the right thing for our customers.

Work Environment

While performing the job of assemble, the employee is exposed to vibration, loud noise and dust. The employee may work near moving mechanical parts and may be occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock.

Physical Demands

While performing this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, but also walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk and hear instructions. The employee is frequently required to use hands to use tools and assemble objects. Employee will regularly lift and move up objects up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
