Description

Cimarron has been in the forefront of technology in capturing fugitive emissions & revolutionizing the renewable energy landscape. We are offering a challenging career for VRU and/or Combustor Technicians in our Midland Service Center. If you are a talented seasoned VRU and/or Combustor Technician, with 5 years of experience, who is looking to assemble cutting edge equipment and grow their career come and join our team.

Position Overview: Provides Maintenance, (including spark plug and/or oil changes), minor repairs, electrical trouble shooting, as needed on rental, company, and customer owned oil & gas production equipment such as open flare controls, ECD’s, Burner Management systems, Vapor Recovery Units, and other rotary equipment. Assists other team members with repairs, trouble shooting, and start-ups as needed. Job requires overtime hours, and occasional travel with some out-of-town stay. No relocation benefit is being offered for this position.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Supports a philosophy of zero accidents by following all applicable safety procedures and maintaining equipment to operate in the safest way possible
  • Combustor/Flare Maintenance Techs Perform tasks while on manlift at heights between 20’-50.’
  • Possess an understanding of all applicable electrical codes.
  • Responsible for maintenance, inspections, repairs, electrical trouble shooting, and cleaning of oil & gas production equipment, located on customer sites.
  • Assist Field Service team as needed with equipment repairs, trouble shooting, and start-ups.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a positive, team-oriented attitude.
  • Flexibility to work hours necessary to meet customer requirements.
  • Complete Timecards, field tickets and material transfers with accurate information and turned in timely.
  • Perform quality work to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Maintains Company truck and ensures all required maintenance is performed.
  • Complete all job-related safety documentation to ensure the job is completed in a safe manner.
  • Maintain a positive, team-oriented attitude.
  • Requires Responsible, Self-Motivated individual that works with little supervision.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Successfully Pass and obtain DOT Certification.
  • Successfully Pass and obtain DISA Certification.
  • Participate in mandatory Drug & Alcohol testing program.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within the immediate geographical area (50 miles) of facility location will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3-4) years of experience in oil & gas field service work
  • Minimum of Two (2-3) years of environmental equipment experience (combustion, compression, BMS) or – 2-3 years’ experience with production/midstream equipment
  • Minimum 1-2 years electrical and mechanical troubleshooting
  • Fundamental knowledge of the national Electrical Code and the Electrical Trade.
  • Working knowledge of hand tools associated with the electrical trade and electrical testing equipment (Multimeters, meggers, 4-20 signal drivers, battery testers)
  • Training/Experience in Industrial Wiring, Motor Controls, Relay Logic and PLC’s
  • Training/Experience Reading and Interpreting Electrical, P&ID, GA, and Fabrication drawings.
  • Training/Experience Working with Electrical instrumentation (Flow/Pressure Transmitters, Thermocouples, Etc.)
  • Training/Experience Working with Electrical motors, starters, and drives.
  • Training/Experience Working with Vacuum pumps, blowers, and belt driven/direct drive motors.
  • Training/Experience Working with pneumatic and electric actuators and valves.
  • Training/Experience Working with detonation and flame arrestors.
  • Training/Experience Working with pressure/vacuum relief valves and mechanical check valves.
  • Computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office application package, and Outlook

Position Criteria:

  • Must have good mechanical aptitude and knowledge of various types of mechanical equipment.
  • Prior plant I&E construction experience a plus
  • Must be a self-starter and highly dependable.
  • Must possess excellent command of the English language in both written and spoken form.
  • Must have strong communication skills with all levels of employees and customers.
  • Computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) a plus
  • Must be extremely aware of safety procedures and protocol.
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Results-oriented and able to work both independently and within a team environment.

  • Vision abilities required: close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Vision to accurately read all related distribution documents and computer monitor screens.

  • Outdoor work requiring heavy physical labor.
  • Position is 80% outside environment. Worker is subjected to weather elements and must be accustomed to performing tasks in potentially adverse conditions.
