Cimarron is seeking an experienced Technician with an electrical/instrumentation background to support the development of an OEM rocket tank located in Decatur, AL.

Key Duties:

• Interpret instrumentation drawings provided by the customer.
• Install strain gauge sensors on a ground test article propellant tank in accordance with the instrumentation drawings.
• Inspect strain gauges to ensure they are in good health.
• Solder and route wires to and from strain gauges.
• Perform continuity testing to ensure the gauges are soldered correctly.
• Troubleshoot and repair damaged gauges.
• Document work performed for each day.
• Coordinate with management to establish work priorities.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.

Required Skills, Experience, and Education:

• Ability to pass a physical examination (visual acuity, color perception, respiratory, etc.) to meet production certification and safety requirements.
• Ability to work any assigned shift.
• Previous experience soldering small components.
• Have a basic understanding of the purpose of strain gauges.
• Previous experience in cable routing/management.
• Ability to interpret 3D engineering drawings.
• General shop skills including Foreign Object Debris (FOD) prevention, material handling, safety, electrostatic discharge (ESD), and contamination control.
• Knowledge and proficiency in a variety of precision measuring instruments, including micrometers, meters, calipers, and multimeters.
• Ability to work in a team environment and perform duties in an agile environment.
• General knowledge of production quality systems and requirements in daily operations.
• Must be well versed in safety regulations including detecting, reporting, and correcting safety issues.
• High school diploma or equivalent, and 1 or more years of related experience.

Desired Skills, Experience, and Education:

• Formally trained in strain gauge installation.
• Experience conducting wire harness installation tests, including di-electric withstanding insulation, insulation resistance, and continuity.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and methods and the ability to apply knowledge to streamline operations and eliminate waste.
• Previous electrical and wire harness certification to NASA standard NASA-STD-8739.4.
