Cimarron is seeking Fabrication Specialists to support a lunar NASA program in New Orleans, LA. This position is supporting a 1-year contract. The selected candidates must have the ability to support 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift schedules.

Key Duties:

• Perform machine set-up, machining, welding set-up, welding, sheet metal fabrication and extrusion, tube bending, and fabrication tasks.
• Perform composite lay-up, fabrication, and assembly tasks.
• Assemble precision mechanical and electro-mechanical components.
• Assemble, repair, modify, and install various power plants and drive trains.
• Perform soldering on electronic and avionics products.
• Assemble and install wire harnesses and avionics products.
• Prepare test articles, fixtures, and data collection devices to perform various tests.
• Perform basic organic chemical conversion and paint preparation.
• Apply routine organic coatings for corrosion protection and appearance requirements.
• Work on articles of moderate complexity using established drawings and requirements.
• Interact with cross-functional personnel.
• Perform FOD (foreign object debris) monitoring tasks.
• Perform walk-downs of FOD Critical areas.
• Monitor tool controls and provide coaching on tools and part procedures.
• Monitor computer personnel entering or exiting FOD critical areas.
• Log all shop consumables, small parts, and tools.
• Verify proper tethering and storage procedures are followed and perform FOD checks at the end of each shift.
• Assist personnel with items as required.
• Monitor oxygen levels for confined spaces while the area has an active permit until closeout.
• Perform hazardous waste management.
• Keep consumables and PPE restocked.
• Perform 5S and/or area organization tasks as assigned.

Required Skills, Experience, and Education:

• Active Secret U.S. Security Clearance.
• Ability to work 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift.
• High School Diploma and 2 or more years of experience or vocational school, and/or Associate degree.
