Position Introduction:

Cimarron Software Services is seeking mid-level and senior-level Control Systems Engineers to support the Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) phase of the US Air Force's Sentinel (formally GBSD) program in Ogden, UT. Cimarron provides engineering and technical support to Bechtel for the design, construction, and integration of the Sentinel launch infrastructure at locations to include Vandenberg AFB, CA, F.E. Warren AFB, WY, Malmstrom AFB, MT, and Minot AFB, ND. Sentinel is a vital US Air Force program that will recapitalize the nation's aging ground-based leg of the nuclear triad -- the Minuteman III Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM). This is an onsite position.

Key Duties:

  • Support design development of systems and equipment for the Sentinel project by preparing studies, drawings, calculations, specifications, and evaluations, following applicable procedures, codes, standards, and contract requirements.
  • Work with other technical disciplines in a team environment.
  • Develop design drawings.
  • Review of and input to P&IDs Preparation of Logic diagrams, functional block diagrams, Instrument data sheets, etc.
  • Prepare instrument index and I/O list using automated tools, vendor inputs, and customer input as applicable.
  • Develop equipment and material specifications.
  • Develop procurement documentation.
  • Design Building Information Models and coordinate with other disciplines.
  • Review vendor submittals and integrate information into the design solution.
  • Execute to schedule requirements while maintaining a high degree of quality in work product.
  • Coordinate closely with other technical disciplines in planning and executing work as an integrated team.
  • Develop I/O lists, alarm lists, ECS controls, building management systems, and logic diagrams.
  • Develop procurement documents, including specifications and material requisitions.
  • Develop and check calculations.
Required Skills:

Required Skills, Experience, and Education:

  • Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration at this time.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
  • 9 or more years of relevant experience, including drawings, calculations, and specifications for systems and equipment in nuclear or industrial process facilities, data centers, central utility plants, or complex building systems.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs, VISIO, and other common computer programs.
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Extensive knowledge and application Codes and Standards.
  • Broad knowledge of the application of Control Systems engineering design principles.
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings, data sheets, and the selection of instruments based on system application requirements.
  • Lead or supervisory experience.
  • Experience working with procedures meeting quality assurance programs, such as ISO-9000.
  • Experience executing engineering design with Revit.
  • Understanding of Mechanical and Process engineering discipline drawings and system calculations, as related to Control System design requirements.
  • High School diploma or equivalent and 15 or more years of related experience, or Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline from an accredited course of study and 9 or more years of related experience.

Additional Required Skills, Experience, and Education for Senior-Level:

  • 13 or more years of relevant experience, including drawings, calculations, and specifications for systems and equipment in nuclear or industrial process facilities, data centers, central utility plants, or complex building systems.
  • High School diploma or equivalent and 19 or more years of related experience, or Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline from an accredited course of study.

Desired Skills, Experience, and Education:

  • Active Secret Clearance.
  • Registered Professional Engineer in the U.S.
  • Knowledge of Bechtel Corporate guides and standards.
  • Design experience with Unified Facilities Criteria and the Whole Building Design Guide.
  • Intermediate knowledge of developing CSI MasterFormat specifications, or SpecsIntact.
  • Prior experience working with government agencies, preferably the Department of Defense.
  • Master of Science in an Engineering discipline from an accredited course of study
