JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: Security Field Operations Manager

DEPARTMENT: Operations

REPORTS TO: Northeast Operations Manager

SUPERVISES: Security Officers

CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt (Hourly)

HOURS PER WEEK: 32 hours - 56 hours (Overtime Eligible)

ABOUT CRITICAL INCIDENT MANAGEMENT

CIM Security provides security guard staffing, threat assessment, catastrophe management and personal defense training in New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Maine, Vermont, Rhode Island, and Connecticut.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Security Field Operations Manager is a critical role responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day security operations, as well as leading and supervising a team of Security Officers. This role involves planning, organizing, and directing security measures to protect assets, personnel, and property of the company's clients. The Security Field Operations Manager ensures compliance with regulations, develops and implements security plans, provides training and development to the security team, and maintains a strong client/customer service focus. Additionally, this role may require filling in to cover shifts during staffing shortages or when starting a new location, demonstrating adaptability and effective management skills.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Training and development: Providing training and development opportunities to security officers to enhance their skills, knowledge, and competencies in areas such as access control, surveillance systems, de-escalation techniques, emergency response, and other relevant areas to ensure their readiness to handle security-related tasks.
  • Security planning and risk assessment: Conducting security risk assessments and developing security plans and procedures to mitigate identified risks and vulnerabilities, and ensure the safety and security of the facility, employees, visitors, or other stakeholders.
  • Liaising with clients and stakeholders: Establishing and maintaining effective communication and working relationships with clients, customers, internal stakeholders, and other relevant parties to understand their security needs, address concerns or inquiries, and provide excellent customer service.
  • Incident management: Managing security incidents, emergencies, or security breaches, including responding to critical incidents, coordinating with law enforcement or emergency services as needed, conducting investigations, and preparing incident reports.
  • Budgeting and resource management: Managing security budgets, resources, and equipment, including monitoring expenses, inventory management, and procurement of necessary security equipment, supplies, and resources.
  • Compliance and regulatory adherence: Ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and industry standards related to security, privacy, and confidentiality, and maintaining accurate records and documentation as required.
  • Continuous improvement: Identifying areas for improvement in security operations, processes, and procedures, and implementing necessary changes to enhance security effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Emergency planning and preparedness: Developing and implementing emergency response plans, conducting drills and exercises, and coordinating with other departments or external agencies to ensure preparedness for emergency situations.
  • Filling in and covering shifts for security officers at various locations when there are staffing shortages or when starting a new location that is short on staff.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • 3 years of experience in security management
  • 5 years of leadership and supervisory skills
  • High school degree or equivalent
  • Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations
  • Customer service orientation
  • Crisis management and de-escalation skills
  • Training and development expertise
  • Communication and written reporting
  • Problem-solving and decision-making
  • Flexibility and adaptability
  • Professionalism and integrity

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
