Position Purpose

The Legal Analyst will assist and work with Associate General Counsel, General Counsel and Chief Legal Officer and have the opportunity to gain a comprehensive, hands-on experience in carrying out corporate legal functions in connection with CIM’s business activities. CIM will provide the necessary training. 

Responsibilities:

• Corporate Responsibilities:
• Form and maintain corporate entities, obtain good standing certificates as necessary.
• Obtain EINs
• Prepare organizational charts
• Prepare organizational documents, including drafting operating agreements
• Reviewing/drafting board/corporate resolutions and consents
• Work on U.S and foreign KYC requests
• Maintain CIM’s signature block and additional insureds’ list
• Complete required annual entity maintenance including statements of information and corporate minutes
• Obtain business licenses and permits as necessary
• Review/draft as additional legal documents as necessary
• Collaborate with other CIM teams and external attorneys/service providers
• Act as a liaison between the Legal team and other CIM teams

• REIT and Fund Assistance:
• Assist with the preparation and circulation of REIT demand letters
• Prepare quarterly REIT dividend consents
• Draft the Audit Committee and Board meeting minutes for our publicly-traded REIT
• Support General Counsel and CIM teams with SEC Regulatory filings 

• Additionally, Administrative Responsibilities, not limited to the following:
• Set up and maintain legal files records according to established criteria, including providing such records as requested by outside counsel or CIM personnel
• Upload documents in SharePoint as directed by Associate General Counsel or General Counsel
• Assist with tax related forms and distributions to investors
• Assist with various legal projects requested by Associate General Counsel, General Counsel and Chief Legal Officer

Actual base salary considers several factors including but not limited to geography, job-related knowledge, experience, and budget. The start of the salary range is typically associated with the minimum experience required. The role is considered non-exempt so will be eligible for overtime pay in accordance with federal and state law. At CIM, this role has the potential to receive a discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The anticipated base pay range for the position in Los Angeles is $31.30 - $40.90 per hour.
