We're searching for a talented and motivated individual to join our team as an Avaya PBX & Key System Technical Support Specialist.

In this role, you'll be our in-house expert on all things Avaya, providing installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance support across multiple locations.

You'll wear many hats, from wiring up new systems to diving deep into programming and ensuring optimal performance.

What You'll Do :

• Provide installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance support for Avaya PBX and key telephone systems in multiple locations.
• Installs telephone and computer network wiring, and telephone equipment.
• Makes modifications to programs in the Avaya PBX as necessary to facilitate daily changes and additions to telephone equipment.

What We're Looking for :

• 2 years of experience directly related to Avaya PBX and key systems programming, maintenance, and voice / data wiring.
• Knowledge of computer network equipment is preferred.
• A two-year degree in a telecommunications-related field or 4 years of relevant technical experience.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine service-oriented mindset.
• A thirst for knowledge and a passion for staying ahead of the curve in technology.

Essential Functions

• Maintains a high level of expertise of the Avaya PBX system and its features, functions, and programs.
• Acts as an in-house expert on the Avaya PBX system and associated equipment.
• Installs, configures and tests Avaya PBX hardware components such as trunk cards and line cards.
• Performs in-depth technical programming of the Avaya PBX system.
• Installs telephone or computer wiring where appropriate.
• Works with the Telecommunications Manager in planning moves involving telephone equipment or wiring.
• Performs basic troubleshooting tasks on telephone and telecommunications problems.
• Performs repairs if possible or works with communications vendors to solve problems.
• Maintains neat and accurate records of the physical components of the Avaya PBX system, including wiring diagrams, system hardware configuration, and routing schematics.
• Maintains inventory of spare parts to be used for equipment repair and for new equipment installation.
• Monitors specific security indicators periodically to alert the client to potential security risks.
• Responsible for protecting the client against the misuse or theft of services by ensuring that the appropriate safeguards are activated on the Avaya PBX system.
• Performs capacity planning as it pertains to Avaya PBX hardware components, lines, trunks, etc.
• Monitors incoming and outgoing traffic to ensure the efficient and optimal use of the lines.
• Makes recommendations to management for the addition of lines and PBX hardware components where appropriate.
