**Description**
The Campus Store Sales Associate is responsible for providing customers with a unique shopping experience by providing excellent customer service, utilizing effective selling techniques and providing in-depth product knowledge in a specialty retail environment.
**ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES**
* Greet and welcome customers to the store with enthusiasm.
* Determine and understand customers needs by asking open ended questions.
* Explain product features and benefits, addressing individual customer needs.
* Engage customers with information about Copia and all of the features/events of the property
* Suggest additional items utilizing sales skills to build multiple sales.
* Ring items on the POS/Cash Register and bag merchandise appropriately to avoid damage.
* Maintain a CIA provided cash drawer and follow proper cash handling policies and procedures.
* Perform cashier function with minimal errors for all transactions. Ensures POS pricing is correct, and everyone is charged appropriately for items sold.
* Thank all customers for their patronage and for visiting the campus.
* Follow through on customer requests.
* Provide regular feedback to store manager on customer reaction to store and merchandise.
* Maintain the order and cleanliness of the store.
* Assist in the daily stocking/re-stocking of merchandise throughout the store and outside displays.
* Perform opening duties that include setting up cash register and set-up of outside displays.
* Perform closing duties that include reconciling end-of-day cash, balance and deposit into individual cash drawers, bring in outside displays and secure the store.
* Assist the Shipping and Receiving department with packing of shippers and receiving of merchandise.
* Any and all other duties as assigned.
**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS**
Education:
* High School Diploma or GED.
Experience:
* A minimum of one (1) year of retail sales or customer service experience.
**REQUIRED SKILLS**
* Exemplary customer service skills.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Good planning and time management skills to execute multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Ability to become familiar with the products carried in the store and their uses.
**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**
* Experience with POS systems.
* Prior experience selling cookware, dinnerware, cutlery, kitchen electrics, bakeware products.
* Food & Beverage knowledge from a consumers perspective
* Wine Country hospitality experience. Must be available to work on projected peak sales days based on business needs. Regular work requires a great deal of climbing, standing, lifting, bending and stretching for up to eight (8) hours per workday.
**WORKING CONDITIONS**
* Ability to lift and carry up to fifty (50) pounds.
* Must be able to stand for up to eight (8) hours per day.
* Must be available to work quarterly inventories.
* Must be available to work a flexible schedule including overtime, nights, weekends and holidays including but not limited to Black Friday, Labor Day weekend and Memorial Day weekend
