Church Pension Group (CPG) is a financial services organization that serves the Episcopal Church, located in Midtown Manhattan. CPG was founded in 1917 to provide pension benefits to eligible clergy of the Episcopal Church. Since then, its mission has expanded to include life and disability insurance, health benefits, property & casualty insurance, and publishing.

TheManager- Life Event Team isresponsible formanaging thedaily operations oftheLifeEventTeam whoadminister anarray ofbenefits, which include pension, medical, dental, lifeinsurance and short and long-term disability. This position has responsibility for the team's adherence to benefit plans, policy, processes, and regulatory guidelines. TheManager leadsateamwhodeliver client education through aneffortless experience. Theposition isalsoresponsible for handling benefit inquiries and outreach relative to client life events, with a specific focus onretirement and claims. The Manager works with business leaders inidentifying trends and identifying opportunities to implement departmental strategies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Effectiveperformance oftheessential functions ofthisposition requires regularin-person, on-site interaction with colleagues, both for purposes of internal and external relationship building and meaningful collaboration.
  • Responsible formanaging lifecycle stagesforlifeevents,fromtheinitiationthrough completion, withspecific emphasis on client follow-up and education.
  • Craft and execute a business strategy as the client's needs evolve over time.
  • Leadcross-functionalteamindeliveringhighqualityservicetoourclients and providing exemplary client service toprospective andcurrent clients;assumes overall responsibility for answering questions regarding products and their administration.
  • Translatesidentified gaps, challenges,and opportunitiesinto innovative insights and transforms them into actions Interact withallclient facing teams toensure thatallservice level agreements aremet asitrelates totheLifeEvent team.
  • MonitorsClient Services performance: measures, revisesand/or changesClient service processes tomaintain and improve their overall quality, effectiveness, and efficiency.
  • Ensures thatClient Services skillneeds areanalyzed andidentified, thattraining needsareidentified, andthattraining plans which meet these needs are developed anddelivered; assumes responsibilityfor equipping staff to provide effective, knowledgeable client service.
  • Manages specialprojects withinClient Services function; collaborates withmanagers withinCPGtomanage cross functional projects.
  • Maintainadeepunderstandingofplanprovisionsandprocessesrelated toPension, Life,MedicalandDisability
  • Assumesresponsibilityfordeterminingstaffing needsaswellasschedulingtomeetoperationalneeds.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • BA\BS or combination of experience and education
  • 8 yrs overallprofessional experience with a focusesoncustomer success withinaservice leader and fast-paced corporate environment
  • Experience withpension plans,health andwelfare planadministration,and compliance
  • Priorpeopleandteammanagementexperience
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Commuting to the office, on average, three days a week. Extensive use of a computer keyboard is a demand of the position to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. WORK ENVIRONMENT:Hybrid (two days working from home, three days working in a standard office environment, Tue-Thurs.). Salary Range: $93,000 - $120,000
