ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Daily

· Sweep/blow the entryways.

· Walk the property and pick up any litter or debris

• Clean kitchen counter tops.
• Clean bathroom sinks, counter tops, commodes, disinfect and restock.
• Clean hallways.
• Clean glass doors.
• Take out trash throughout the building. On Mondays make certain trash cans are on the curb and returned behind the church after pick up.

Weekly

• Clean all floors.
• Dust all surfaces.
• Clean nave: floors, chairs, window sills.
• Clean sanctuary (altar area).
• Clean upstairs offices and choir loft.
• Clean classrooms and Administrative offices.
• Clean kitchen and parish hall weekly.
• Check for light bulbs out and replace as soon as possible.
• Attend staff meetings.

As Needed

• Vacumn upholstered chairs periodically.
• Clean blinds periodically.
• Submit work order for repairs as needed.
• Procure and schedule outside contractors making certain work completed as required.
• Help in moving furniture and setting up church and parish hall per direction from staff.
• Advise administrator of supplies needed.

SECONDARY JOB FUNCTIONS:

· Other duties as may be assigned.

WORK SCHEDULE:

· Monday thru Friday 5-6 hours per day. Not to exceed 29 hours per week.

· Daily, weekly, as needed projects will be scheduled thru the church administrator.

Reports to:

· Church administrator.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Education: High School diploma, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

· Skills: Cleaning and needs to have some basic handyman skills and good communicator

· Experience: Cleaning, light maintenance, communications

· Transportation: Must have dependable transportation

· Background check: individual is required to pass a background check.

MACHINE / EQUIPMENT / TOOLS USED:

· Vacumn, cleaning products, ladders, drill, screwdrivers, saw, paint, leaf blower. Must be able to lift and carry at least 35 lbs.

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:

· Must be able to react quickly to church needs and to adapt workload priorities accordingly.

· Must work well under pressure.

· Must be organized and work effectively and efficiently with others.

· Must be dependable, able to communicate clearly, and above all be honest.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

· Mostly indoors in airconditioned surroundings.

Other Compensation:

· In the event there are special event services required i.e. wedding, funeral, memorial services the sexton will need to be compensated directly. See following examples.

Wedding

-Ensure church is clean

-Clean bathrooms before and after ceremony

-Clean church for Sunday services after wedding ceremony

-Clean parish hall if used

-Sexton fee paid directly to sexton by the Bride and Groom

Funeral

-Ensure church is clean

-Clean bathrooms before and after ceremony

-Set up family gathering room

-Clean church for next service

-Clean parish hall if used

-Sexton paid directly by the family of the deceased

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.44 - $16.02 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 29 per week
