Job Description

Responsible for the overall success of the Events Department; for creating, coordinating, implementing and evaluating all casino special events and communicating to Team Members regarding Special Events and Promotions. Responsible for the overall success of all operational activities for entertainment in accordance with Chukchansi Gold’s objectives and ensuring policies, procedures and regulations are followed.

Job Responsibilities

• Oversees the design, develop, and implementation of all casino Special Events & promotions.

• Oversees the development of yearly strategies and goals for the internal communications program related to Marketing initiatives.
• Evaluates every special event & promotion, including but not limited to slot tournaments, parties, give-a-ways; facilitates the review process for all proposed special events & promotions.

• Reviews the monthly financial statements for accuracy, emphasizing cost effectiveness of department.

• Works with Marketing Analyst to develop proformas and budgets.

• Authors a special events publication for distribution to all Team Members in a timely and informative manner.

• Oversees the updates and distribution of the Special Events Calendar.

• Prepares and submits to the Director of Marketing a monthly activity summary of special events.

• Ensures to a high degree the thoroughness and accuracy of departmental records and reports and for maintaining an exceptional level of customer service and satisfaction.

• Submits advertising work orders for casino special events & promotions.

• Handles and distributes monetary promotional prizes.

• Negotiates contracts with various vendors; oversees special events and attractions designed to meet the tastes of our guests.

• Analyzes profitability of special events & promotions.

• Creates, develops, implements an effective strategy of organization for the department ensuring an optimum level of guest service and satisfaction is achieved and maintained.

• Provides support and guidance to all Entertainment Team Members.

• Serves as the promotional contact who provides promotional information on TV, radio broadcasting through live and recorded interviews.

• Promotes special events and promotions off-property through community sponsored events.

• Provides strategies to captivate audiences to grow the target demographic

• Maintains staffing levels by interviewing, selecting, training, scheduling, evaluating, assisting with career development, promoting, disciplining and terminating Team Members as needed.

• Facilitates the flow of information throughout the department by organizing and presiding over regularly scheduled meetings with all Team Members under span of control.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university required.
• Three or more years’ experience planning special events in a casino or similar environment required.
• Two years supervisory experience required; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• MBA preferred.
