Job Overview

The incumbent is responsible for performing a variety of carpentry duties as assigned. Carpentry services include, but are not limited to, the design, construction, installation and repair of wooden fixtures and structures such as cabinets, furniture, shelving, doors, plaques, and other custom wood products.

Other duties include, but are not limited to, framing and finish work, painting, staining, etc. Monitors subcontractor performance as assigned, conducts jobsite troubleshooting and performs primary project layout and carpentry production.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties & Job Functions :

• Uses a variety of hand tools, portable power tools, and standard measuring instruments.
• Respond to emergency site maintenance as required.
• Able to inspect and diagnose problems to determine corrective repairs.
• Perform on call and preventive maintenance duties as necessary.
• Supports and assists other department staff and trade groups as needed or directed.
• Adheres to the established Chugach safety, personnel policies and standard operating procedures.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Mandatory :

• High school graduate or equivalent GED.
• Requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.
• Familiarity with basic mathematical functions is required.
• Ability to work a schedule of 8 days on and 6 days off.
• Good working knowledge of hand and power tools.
• Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner in diversified situations.
• Mature judgment and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• U.S. Citizenship.
• Ability to obtain and maintain the required intelligence community level clearance.
• Valid state driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and team lift 75 pounds.
