Summary/General Description of Job:

The Construction Superintendent assists the SATOC Manager in the daily operations of the construction department, provides overall leadership for “job-site” field administration, and full oversight for construction activities. The duties involve managing the start-up and close-out of multiple construction projects, troubleshooting job-site problems, handling project construction responsibilities from cost estimating to closeout.

Essential Duties & Job Functions:

• Acts as primary contact to the Government Project Manager assigned to the construction project.
• Plans, organizes, coordinates, directs and controls all construction activities for assigned projects in a manner such that there is minimal interruption to the customer’s operation and employees.
• Responsible for cost management, timely completion and quality workmanship that meets or exceeds industry standards.
• Reviews plans, specifications, drawings and cost estimates to identify and correct any errors, omissions, code violations or potential project inadequacies for review/correction.
• Conducts project site visits and develops detailed project notes reflecting necessary project performance requirements.
• Develops scope of work and scheduling documents for construction projects in accordance with customer requirements, pre-bid walkouts, and specifications. Actively works with subcontractors for weekly schedule.
• Tracks delivery order projects using available scheduling software as well as creates and maintains baseline schedules and performs critical path analyses to identify stop gaps and project challenges.
• Calculates project completion percentages and reports incrementally as defined and at final completion.

Job Requirements (Education, Experience, Professional Associations): Mandatory

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Five (5) years of direct experience managing construction projects/activities to include supervising construction personnel, subcontractors and professional customer support.
• U.S. Citizenship.
• Must possess Active intelligence community security clearance.
• Valid state driver’s license.
• If necessary, must be able to travel for up to a week at a time.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
