Chubb is Hiring an Actuarial Analyst Near Penn, PA

This position within the Actuarial Department's Reserving unit will be based in either Whitehouse Station NJ, or Philadelphia PA, and will be providing reserve analysis and related work and insights for Chubb North America.

The major duties and responsibilities of this position include:

  • Complete designated loss and ALAE reserve review analyses each quarter, including documentation of reserve analyses, reconciliations and support for external actuarial review;
  • Prepare explanations of change in estimates for business unit wrap-up meetings and Reserve Committee materials;
  • Prepare booking changes for bulk reserves into our systems/ledger;
  • Support actual vs. expected analysis on lines reviewed as needed; and
  • Contribute to the improvement, creation, and/or implementation of processes to expand capabilities, improve efficiency, modernize tools, and enhance effectiveness.

Qualifications

Education/Competencies/Technical Skills:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree;
  • At least 3 years of experience in P/C actuarial disciplines;
  • Minimum of 3 actuarial exams;
  • Knowledge of actuarial reserving techniques and experience is a plus;
  • Proficient in Excel; familiarity with R or SQL is a plus;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to work semi-independently and recommend/formulate innovative solutions when confronted with new problems;
  • Effective written and oral communication; and
  • Ability to prioritize multiple competing deliverables and manage time effectively to achieve scheduled due dates.
