AVP, Field Property Claims - Claim Director Supervisor

The ideal candidate will be located in the Western Territory with specific focus on the Midwest, Southwest and Southeast regions.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure appropriate and proactive handling activities in all phases of the claim, including coverage, investigation, case management, reserving, evaluation, negotiation, and file documentation.
  • Ensure thorough coverage evaluations, and detailed analysis that are well documented. Escalate and appropriately communicate coverage issues to Field Property leadership as appropriate.
  • Demonstrate, implement and coach team on effective resolution and claim strategies to ensure favorable disposition of each claim.
  • Coach team to proactively adjust losses and utilize aggressive diary management system to achieve favorable inventory results and prompt resolution.
  • Work with the CD Trainer and VP, deliver unform coverage training on commercial coverage, including Small Commercial, Benchmarq and Customarq.
  • Facilitate and lead >$500K calls, providing technical support to local leaders and adjusters.
  • Maintain current oversight diaries on files as necessary to monitor development, provide direction and identify trends that require positive reinforcement or attention for improvement.
  • Adhere to individual authority grants, all statutory and regulatory requirements and fair claim practices and local compliance requirements, including examiner licensing.
  • Where appropriate, participate in claim committee process both as a participant on claims in inventory and as a resource to others.
  • Ensure all files are handled in accordance with all aspects of the Best Practices.
  • Exposure recognition – Ensure that exposures are quantified as soon as possible.
  • Compile effective Executive Summaries on files/issues as necessary/appropriate; escalate to Claim Leaders, SDR and other Field Property leadership.
  • Ensure timely & accurate reserve practices are being followed to cultivate favorable reserve adequacy results.
  • Manage authority requests for all experts with an emphasis on building consultants; ensure vendors are routinely provided specific direction as to scope, budget and timely reporting.
  • Collaboratively utilize field staff resources to minimize use of IAs thereby maximizing opportunities to have Chubb staff providing service to our customers.
  • Oversee preparation of Claim Alerts, LLRs, reserve notifications and risk advisory reports to internal partners per guidelines on all eligible claims.
  • Utilize data tools such as ClaimSmart and Management Insights to track key metrics such as inventory, closing ratio, cycle time, aged pending and average paid, to be reported on each month to measure changes/improvement. 
  • Provide a level of service that generates positive commentary and results on surveys indicative of customers being highly satisfied; results should meet or exceed today’s traditional standards.
  • Ride-along’s and reinspections with each Claim Director are required on a quarterly basis. 
  • Support Claims Transformation– Supporting our claims transformation effort by providing specific feedback and insights, participating and/or otherwise demonstrating commitment to new trainings and initiatives.
