Chroma Medicine is Hiring a Computational Biology Co-Op (Northeastern University Students) Near Boston, MA

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a remarkable Computational Biology Co-Op to join us!

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Integrate and interpret external and internal datasets in collaboration with experimental and computational teams, to help provide insights into biological questions. 
  • Contribute to the development of computational tools to analyze data types like DNA methylation, RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, ATAC-seq, Hi-C, screening data, and others. 
  • Document computational pipelines and analyses.
  • Present analysis and results to Chroma Data Sciences and R&D teams.

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

  • Programming in Python, R, or similar computational languages.
  • Familiarity with computational biology tools and analysis software.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills, including an ability to combine attention to detail with a big picture perspective.
  • Collaborative and team-oriented mindset, adaptable, and keen on working in the fast-paced biotech startup space to drive cutting-edge science.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Candidates must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student majoring in Bioinformatics, Data Science, Biology, Computer Science, Biochemistry, or related program. 6 months in relevant co-op or internship experience a plus.
  • Prior experience with programmatic analysis and visualization of large datasets.
  • Experience reading and interpreting primary scientific literature.
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States.
  • Proven success in relevant coursework.
