Christopher's Reason is a substance use disorder facility that specializes in treating those who suffer from addiction. We are a fully operating OASAS licensed 822 Outpatient clinic located on the South Shore of Staten Island. We are equipped with a full medical, clinical, and peer support team. We also have a Recovery Community Living Center on site that operates 24/7. We are seeking a Certified Recovery Peer Advocate/Peer Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate who is independent and self-motivated with familiarity and experience in the field of addiction with a passion for helping those we serve.
The primary function of a Certified Recovery Coach/Peer Specialist is facilitating outreach with individuals currently in a program or considering treatment. Utilizing their recovery expertise, professional training and lived experience, peers boost individuals' engagement in treatment and commitment to recovery.

Responsibilities:
Conducting one on one peer support sessions
Facilitating peer support groups
Utilizing recovery expertise, professional training and lived experience
Serve as a mentor and role model for clients, sharing personal experiences of recovery
Outreach to engage individuals currently in a program or considering treatment
Educating program participants about various modes of recovery
Conduct regular check-ins with clients to monitor progress and offer encouragement
Collaborate with other members of the treatment team to ensure comprehensive care for clients
Experience and Qualifications:
Certified Recovery Peer Advocate, CRPA
CRPA-Provisional, CRPA-P
High School Diploma or Equivalency
Previous experience working in the field of addiction recovery
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of client interactions and progress
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with clients
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
