- Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine the needs of clients seeking addiction counseling
- Manage a caseload of individuals and complete required documentation
- Provide counseling and therapy sessions to individuals and groups using evidence-based approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)
- Weekly groups planned, delivered, and documented in a timely and effective manner meeting the client's person-centered goals for treatment
- Holds and maintains required certification(s) and completes required continuing education
- Assist clients in developing coping skills and strategies to manage cravings, triggers, and relapse prevention.
- Attend weekly case conferences and supervision
- Maintains timely, accurate, and appropriate documentation
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Current/Valid CASAC, Credentialed Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor
- Current/Valid CASAC-T, Credentialed Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor Trainee
- Bilingual (Spanish a plus)
- Well-versed in substance use disorder
- Maintain excellent punctuality and dependability skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills verbal and written
- Certification or licensure as an Addiction Counselor Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor Experience working with individuals with substance abuse disorders
- Knowledge of coding systems such as ICD-10 and ICD-9 for accurate data collection and reporting
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques and strategies
- Strong communication skills with the ability to establish rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds
- Empathy, compassion, and a non-judgmental approach to counseling.
