ChristianaCare is currently seeking two full-time Nurse Practitioner candidates for a unique role at our Wilmington Hospital- Emergency Department Observation. The successful Nurse Practitioner candidate will enhance and advance care for boarding (admitted) patients, improve the efficiency of patient admissions and discharges, and contribute to the overall improvement of our emergency and hospital medicine services.

• This position will play a critical role in supporting physicians and APCs in the Emergency Department and Hospital Units, more specifically providing exceptional care to patients who are awaiting inpatient beds.
• Ensure continuous advancement of patient care by ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests and updating treatment plans accordingly.
• Coordinate with hospital departments to facilitate the timely admission of patients to inpatient beds, maintain accurate patient records, and communicate with patients and families to update and educate them during their wait.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to advance care of patients.
• The ideal candidate will have experience in Emergency Medicine and Acute Care and be able to function independently to facilitate care plans.

Requirements:

• Master’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program.
• Maintain licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of Delaware
• Board certification in Acute Care or Emergency Nursing (as applicable)
• Minimum of seven years of clinical experience in emergency medicine or acute care.
• Demonstrated ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent clinical skills with the ability to conduct thorough assessments and develop effective care plans.
• Licensure for Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Register Nurse as set forth by the Delaware and Maryland Board of Nursing
